About

Maggie is a home-grown, mostly-self-taught Kansas improviser. She is experienced in many styles, formats and skills.  She has been performing since 2006, when she finally had some time after school to audition for her high schools' improv company, Comedy Troupe.  Maggie attended the University of Kansas and trained in theatre performance while earning her anthropology degree. Maggie went on to join Stitch Tactics at KU, and eventually became President of the student group.  She has worked to educate beginning improvisers and has performed professionally on stage in Kansas City.  Several groups Maggie has played with have been finalists in or have been crowned champions in the competition series Improv Thunderdome.  Maggie has directed and co-directed several groups, including GirlProv and EmuProv.  She served as a judge for the Heartland Regional of the College Improv Tournament (Chicago Improv Festival), as well as participating in the tournament in years prior.  In February 2013, Maggie embarked on a 12-month journey across the globe to New Zealand, where she is a current member of the Wellington Improvisation Troupe, and will be performing as an Improv Diva in the near future.

Maggie has a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from the University of Kansas.  She is a playwright, and prodcued her first play, "A Rock and a Hard Place" through the Jayhawk Initiative for Student Theatre at the Universtiy of Kansas.  Her "day-job" passion is animal welfare.  She has worked for several years in the veterinary field and plans on attending school to become a Veterinary Technician.  Maggie is also a certified euthanasia technician.  She loves kittens, and will always say "Yes!" to grabbing a slice of pizza.
